My Chemical Romance je skupinka združená okolo mladého charizmatického speváka Gerarda Waya (zvyšok tvoria Mikey Way, Bob Bryar, Frank Iero a Eay Toro) fungujúca už trošku dlhšiu dobu. Vznikla v New Jersey v roku 2001, názov odvodil Mikey Way z knihy Irvina Welsha, Ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance. Poriadne sa dostala do popre
dia však až s týmto albumom. Hrajú takzvaný pop punk, taký „sladučký“ punk ovplyvnený emóciami. Album vznikol počas nezáväzného hrania v suteréne a ani členovia kapely nedúfali, že by s tým mohli vyjs? von. Vyšli a podarilo sa, ide o ich zatiaľ najlep ší album.
